So Many Great Benefits to Beeswax

We've finished our honey harvest for 2025, and now we begin the wax harvest.  There is always beeswax that comes off the frames when we harvest honey.  We melt it down and filter out all of the dirt and grime that accumulates on beeswax and we are left with beautiful bars of pure local beeswax.

Some of the great benefits of beeswax are:

  1. It is natural and non-toxic.  No harmful chemicals are found in natural beeswax, making it a great option for cosmetics and candles.
  2. Beeswax naturally draws in moisture to the skin and then acts as a barrier to seal in the moisture. That is why it is a key ingredient in lip balms, lotions, and salves.
  3. It is antibacterial and has anti-inflammatory properties, which aid in healing minor wounds and soothes irritated skin.  Combined with other ingredients like coconut oil and essential oils, you can create a custom salve to target your needs.  A quick search on pinterest provides a wealth of options for different salves and creams that you can make.

There are a lot of ways to use beeswax, such as furniture polish, natural sealant for leather, salves, lotions and lip balms.  A quick search on pinterest will give you lots of ideas!

We made products with our local, natural beeswax, and honey with honeycomb that you can shop here.  Or, you can purchase some beeswax in 1 oz. bars here to create your own custom lip balms, candles, lotions and salves.
